Biden and Zelensky meet in France and at the G7 in Italy

The President of the United States will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart on the sidelines of the landing commemorations in Normandy (France) and then at the G7 summit in Italy, the White House announced.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, shortly after Joe Biden left for France.

“During your trip to Normandy, you will have the opportunity to discuss with the President [Volodymyr] Zelensky the situation in Ukraine and how we can continue to deepen our support for Ukraine,” said National Security Council spokesman Jake Sullivan on board the plane Air Force One.

In France, Biden will pay tribute to the heroism of US troops in 1944, exalt US alliances and defend democracy.

The summit of the G7, the group of the seven most industrialized countries in the world (Germany, Canada, United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom, plus the EU), will take place between June 13th and 15th in Apulia, Italy.
