Conservatives now only ask that the Labor majority is not excessive: how did the party that has governed the British for the longest time get here?

Less than 24 hours before the polls open in the United Kingdom, important figures in the Conservative Party are already considering defeat in the legislature for certain, after 14 years in power. This Wednesday the country woke up with the Minister of Labor, Mel Stride, almost anticipating the defeat speech increasingly expected for Thursday night.

“Tomorrow is likely to be the largest Labor majority, the largest majority this country has ever seen. Much bigger than in 1997, even bigger than the national government of 1931,” said Stride to BBC 4. He has been, on radio and television, one of the spokespeople for Prime Minister Rishi’s party Sunak during this campaign.
