Government begins process for construction and rehabilitation of 3000 houses foreseen in the PRR

The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz, and the Deputy Minister and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, begin, this Tuesday, the process for construction or rehabilitation There are 3000 homes in Alentejo, Algarve, Center and North, for the objective of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) to be fulfilled.

In a statement released this Tuesday, the ministry’s office indicates that the “signatures of terms of responsibility and acceptance with the municipalities†will allow “accelerating applications for the Support Program for Access to Housing†, financed by the PRR. The measure was one of those included in the ‘Build Portugal’ program.

At stake are 80 municipalities in the Alentejo, Algarve, Center and North regions. The signed term of responsibility “will allow local authorities to advance in the construction or rehabilitation of buildings for decent housing for the most vulnerable families, with approval being granted. applications by the Housing and Rehabilitation Institute (IHRU) for a later phase,” reads the note.

In total, the 3000 homes correspond to an investment value of 328 million euros and 12% of the total of 26 thousand homes foreseen in the PRR targets, until 2026.
