Sushi or Ceviche? New restaurant in the Algarve promises “floating gastronomic experience”

Installed on a floating platform over the saltwater lake, BLEND Nikkei is the new restaurant at the Domes Lake Algarve resort, in Vilamoura. It is described by chef Vítor Moreira, responsible for the menu, as a true “floating gastronomic experience†. It offers an innovative fusion between Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, with the bold flavors of Peru aligned with the meticulous techniques of the Japanese culinary arts. But it doesn’t stop there. BLEND Nikkei also serves a selection of top quality meats, offering a very diverse menu designed for the Algarve summer.

The location of the new restaurant in what is the first hotel of the Greek Domes brand outside Greece, provides a distinct and scenic environment, depending on the sunlight and the way it hits the surrounding green spaces, always providing a refined and calm atmosphere.

To begin with, Vítor Moreira’s proposals include “Sashimi†(€8) with lily or tuna, “Niguiri†(€6) with tuna or Hotategai scallops (€7) or the vegetarian “Tamago Nigiri†(€4). The “Uramaki†, always in doses of eight units, they can be of “Yuzu†(16), of “Tempura de Camarão†(€15), of “Nikkei Salmon†(€14), â “Spicy Tuna†(16) or “Inari Picante Vegetariano†(€10).

At the BLEND Nikkei restaurant, there are options of “Tiradito & Ceviche†, “Salmon†(€16), “Spicy Tuna Cubes†(€19) or the “Ceviche of the Day†(€18). In the entries, the suggestion of chef includes “Sautéed Edamame and Kale Kimchi with Kimushi†(€5) and “Tataki de Veal†(€19), followed by the “Rib Eye (Black Angus)†€38), the “T-Bone Steak†(€62) and the “Tomahawk†(€59). The “Deconstructed Pastel de Nata†is the ideal way to end the meal.

The new BLEND Nikkei restaurant is open between 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm (closes only on Wednesdays) and complements the gastronomic offer at Domes Lake Algarve, consisting of four more restaurants and a bar, spread across several spaces, each with its own culinary identity, such as Topos, a fusion between Greece and Portugal, Estrella Pool Bar, next to the famous sand pool, with a concept of brunch with Portuguese flavors. In addition to these, the hotel also has a buffet restaurant, Gustatio offering Mediterranean cuisine and Sora Food Truck, in the adults-only area, with sushi and natural juices. This summer, there will be a new space on Falésia beach, just a few meters from the hotel.
