“We closed”: Minister of the Presidency does not admit returning expressions of interest

NOn Monday, António Leitão Amaro, preceded by an intervention from the Prime Minister and with a large part of the Government present, announced the Emergency Plan for Migrations, with which he intends to solve the problem of inability of the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA) to respond to the thousands of pending requests. The most immediate measure is the end of the “expression of interest†figure, which was promptly promulgated by the President of the Republic. In an interview with Expresso, the Minister of the Presidency explains a plan that has no deadlines or goals and is based on expanding the capacity of the consular network.
