After having been Minister of Health, responsible for combating the pandemic, but also faced with enormous difficulties in the functioning of the SNS, she launched a European candidacy without being a specialist in European issues. The battle has come to an end, the result can only be considered positive. The PS won the elections, Marta became, as Pedro Nuno Santos highlighted, the first woman to win a national election in Portugal.
