Fallout Renewed for Season 2

Fallout has officially been renewed for a second season.

Based on the beloved post-apocalyptic video game series, Fallout premiered on April 10th and was met with praise from die hard fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. On Thursday, along with announcing the second season, Prime Video revealed that the series has already earned ranking as one of the three most-watched titles on the platform, and the most-watched TV season since The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

“We can’t wait to blow up the world all over again,” executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said in a statement about the renewal (per Deadline). “Praise be to our insanely brilliant showrunners, Geneva [Robertson-Dworet] and Graham [Wagner], to our kick-ass cast… all the legends at Bethesda, and… the amazing team at Amazon for their incredible support of this show.”

As for showrunners Robertson-Dworet and Wagner, they made their own statement, saying, “Holy sh*t. Thank you to Jonah, Kilter, Bethesda and Amazon for having the courage to make a show that gravely tackles all of society’s most serious problems these days — cannibalism, incest, jello cake. More to come!”

For his part, Howard, who directed Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 for Bethesda, called the TV show “one of the most spectacular projects we’ve ever been a part of.” Continuing, he said the studio was “overjoyed, not just by the reaction to the show, but that we get to work with these amazing people even more.”

Set in Los Angeles in the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse, Fallout follows Ella Purnell as vault-dweller Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as a Brotherhood of Steel squire, and Walter Goggins as a 200-year-old ghoul bounty hunter.
