Russian attacks kill three people in Ukraine, including a 12-year-old

Three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed in Russian attacks in eastern and northeastern Ukraine, where Moscow has claimed constant advances in recent weeks, Ukrainian authorities announced.

Russian bombings on the village of Mykhaílivka, in the Donetsk region, also injured one person, said regional governor Vadym Filachkine on Telegram.

The Russian air force dropped two bombs 90 minutes apart, damaging several houses in the village, said Vadym Filachkine, cited by AFP.

On Sunday night, one person died and two others were injured in a Russian attack in the neighboring region of Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, where the Russian army recently took several villages, said the governor of this territory, Oleg Synegoubov.

According to the governor, the attack hit a leisure site in Slobojanské, a city southeast of Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine and the capital of the region with the same name.

“Houses were damaged. One man died. Another man and a woman were injured,” said Oleg Synegubov.

Bordering Russia, the Kharkiv region is an almost daily target for Russian forces, who launched a new ground offensive in the area on May 10.

Ukraine, which sent valuable reinforcements to the region, assured at the end of May that this Russian attack had been “stopped”. Most of the fighting currently takes place in the East, says AFP.

Last week, the United States authorized Ukraine, under certain conditions, to use American weapons to attack Russian territory, namely with the aim of repelling the attack on the Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian authorities said on Monday that Russia had launched at least ten drone strikes from the border region of Belgorod.

The governor of this region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported drone strikes from Ukraine that killed one motorist and injured another in border villages.

Furthermore, Ukrainian artillery fire against the city of Gorlivka, in the Donetsk region, controlled by Russia, killed a woman, according to the regional official based in Moscow, Denis Pushilin.

Three women were also injured in Ukrainian attacks on the city of Donetsk and the neighboring town of Makiivka, Denis Pushilin reported.
