Toyota headquarters in Japan targeted in search for falsification of safety test results
The Japanese Ministry of Transport began an investigation at Toyota’s headquarters this Tuesday, after irregularities were detected in the certification of certain vehicle models, Bloomberg reported this Tuesday the fair. The investigations stem from a scandal related to alleged falsification of safety tests, which also involve other Japanese car manufacturers.
Toyota has already apologized for having provided incorrect or manipulated data for safety certification tests. “We should not have bypassed these important processes,†Toyota President Akio Toyoda told journalists.

According to Nikkei, supplies of the Corolla Fielder, Corolla Axio and Yaris Cross models, currently available on the market, have been suspended.
According to the Reuters agency, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha claimed to have presented incorrect or manipulated data when requesting vehicle certification. The same source adds that the other four manufacturers will also be inspected.
