Jimmy Bullard45-year-old former English footballer who played in Wigan, Fulham y Hull Cityhe described in his podcast ‘FC Bullard’ the nightmare that it was for him to play against a young Cristiano Ronaldo when the Portuguese defended the colors of the Manchester United.
“My father was there, sitting on the bench. Cristiano Ronaldo controls the ball and I run towards him and think ‘this is going to happen… It would be fantastic to put Ronaldo in the stands.’ Come on, I wasn’t going to do it, but it was a good opportunity to leave a mark on someone you don’t normally face,” recalls the East Ham midfielder, who is now successful as a commentator on ‘Sky Sports’ con ‘Soccer AM’.
Bullard, who retired in 2012, described how “I’m going towards Cristiano… and he steps on the ball. There has to be that moment of reaction on the ball, but at that moment there wasn’t any. Do you know the Roadrunner? He stopped so fast that It was scary. I don’t know how it stopped like that to this day. You can’t do that. It’s like being an alien.”
“When he hit me it was a fantastic moment. They had never done that to me. I was so fast!” he recalled, acknowledging that he felt “honored” by the dribble that CR7 did to him.
