Cas if it were a sigh, but with extraordinary baggage Pau Gasol celebrated yesterday 20th anniversary of its summer campus. The Pau Gasol Academy by Stanander, which will be held in Barcelona from June 30 to July 6, was presented with all honors by the Spanish sports legend who celebrated the career, the achievement of objectives and the participation record. In this in-person edition, more than 450 participants of 24 different nationalities in a week-long event that continues to grow in its mission of becoming a model for comprehensive training of the individual combined with the practice of top-level sport.
Barcelona, Pau’s birthplace will be the heart of the academy, which will be held at the facilities La Salle Bonanova, CEM Mundet, Father Damián and INEFC, the new campus facility for the Rising Stars modality. On its twentieth anniversary and in the days before the Paris Games, those responsible for the Pau Gasol Academy by Santander have organized the PGA Olympicsa special day of recreational-sports activities for all participants in the classic modality.
Close to the stars
It is not just the experience of the privileged who have already signed up. They will be able to be close to the stars. The Pau Gasol Academy By Santander will have very special visits, such as that of Plush Kingslegend of Real Madrid and the national team, former international player and coach Anna Montañana, who directs CB Jairis, Jaume Ponsarnaucoach of Bilbao Basket and Phil Handy, assistant coach of the Los Angeles Lakers for several seasons.
“This edition is very special for me. We have been with this project for twenty years and I cannot be more proud of what we have achieved during these years of dedication to promoting basketball, values and healthy habits among the youngest,” he commented.
