Primavera Sound: music and haute cuisine in the Porto style

The music is opmain ingredient of Primavera Sound which takes place from Thursday to Saturday at Parque da Cidade. But in 2024, the year in which it celebrates its decade, the festival will also present a menu full of haute cuisine proposals and traditional Porto-style snacks.

Vasco Coelho Santos, from Euskalduna Studio and Mauricio Ghiglione, from Belos Aires, both in Porto, will once again be present at the festival at Prima by Sogrape, a restaurant created from scratch for the event, where you can enjoy a tasting menu created especially for Primavera Sound. The two mentors are joined by guest chefs of different nationalities who currently work in the city and bring different creations to this gastronomic stage.

Rafaela Louzada, from Gruta restaurant, Aurora Goy, from Apego, Angélica Salvador, from In Different, Mirna Gomes, from Mito and Julien Montbabut, from Le Monument, offer the event a very particular vision of the region’s cuisine presented during the tasting menu served at Prima by Sogrape. Also invited is chef Diogo Formiga, from Lisbon’s Encanto.

To accompany the festival’s signature gastronomic experience, several Sogrape wine references are present. Installed in a privileged area of ​​the venue and overlooking the main stage, Prima by Sogrape, exclusive to Primavera Sound ticket holders, will operate by reservation and in three daily shifts of 80 people each, during the three days of the festival – from June 6th to 8th. The menu – of which there is no vegetarian version or one adapted to food intolerances – costs €60 per person, with wine pairing included.

In addition to this restaurant, there is three food truck zones, located close to Palco Porto. In this edition there is a new restaurant format in which Porto’s chefs will be able to sample some of their specialties. Right in the heart of the restaurant area, Primavera Sound Porto will open its own stand, Cinco, where they are served five gastronomic proposals from five of the best chefs in greater Porto. Vasco Coelho Santos, from the Euskalduna Studio, will be preparing Porto-style gastronomic proposals, with Schicken sandwich; João Pupo lameiras do RO, with Udon tantan; Pedro Braga, from Mito, with Hambuúrguer; João Magalhães, from Pata Gorda with Mfried potato leaves with fermented mushrooms and MaurÃcio Ghiglione, from Belos Aires, with EArgentine empanadas. At Cinco, prices range from €8 to €10.

In the approximately 40 proposals to feed the body, there is also no shortage of traditional Porto snacks. The festival includes bifanas from Conga, Francesinhas and beer snacks from Madureira’s and Taberna Londrina as well as Cachorro à Portuguesa, Émepê, Central dos Pregos, Locanda, Meira Restaurante, Chefins, and O Forno do Leitã Zé’s. With other options, including vegetarian and healthy ones, you will find stands such as Camionete, Goela, Punch, Comida de Rua and Sabor Serrano.

The VIP area will feature a menu designed by chef David Jesus, of the Seiva and Nem Carne nem Peixe restaurants, located respectively em Leça da Palmeira e not Porto.

For drinks – there is 20 bar stands, spread throughout the venue, e four wine bars – you can choose to bring a cup from previous editions, as long as it meets the size requirements (0.25 or 0.50) or purchase one at the event. The reusable cup costs €1.

O Primavera Sound takes place between the 6th and 8th of June at Parque da Cidade do Porto. Daily, the doors open at 3:45 pm. The general pass for three days costs €195 e There are still tickets disponíveis for the 6th and 8th of June, and for the 7th, Friday, they are already sold out. Daily tickets cost €75. In the case of the VIP daily ticket, the price is €125. The VIP general pass is also sold out.
