Primavera Sound Porto: No, it’s not the poor man’s Beyoncé, it’s SZA
After a soft start with a series of EPs over a decade ago and a debut album, “Ctrl†(2017), which transformed her into one of the great promises of North R&B American, SZA – real name Solána Imani Rowe – spent a series of years seeing her second album delayed by her publisher. When, a year and a half ago, “SOS†finally saw the light of day, it was already accompanied by songs like ‘Good Days’ or ‘I Hate U’, but the entry of singer and song writer for the first league would happen with ‘Kill Bill’, a song so omnipresent that it remains fresh in our ears more than a year after it was released as a single. And not even the half-baked version that he presented tonight at his debut concert in Portugal, at the Primavera Sound Porto festival – which he didn’t allow to be photographed – is capable of denying its power.
