New reinforcements for a more leading BRAND

UEditorial entity has appointed Felipe del Campo new Content Director of Radio MARCA with the aim of consolidating the evolution in audiences, formats and content of the only exclusively sports channel in Spain.

Del Campo thus joins the MARCA teamdepending on the director, Juan Ignacio Gallardowho leads both the printed and digital versions of the newspaper, its international editions, BRAND Radio and the different platforms and social networks of the newspaper.

About to close the 2023-24 sports season, in which MARCA has broken audience records In all its media, the appointment of Felipe del Campo strengthens the editorial team’s organizational chart in its commitment to innovation, technological avant-garde and new media in both the multimedia and audiovisual areas.

Felipe del Campo (Madrid, 1976) until now combined the leadership of the program European Scoreboard on Radio MARCA with the direction and presentation of Directo Gol on the Mediapro sports channel Gol Play, a work for which he received his second Silver Antenna in 2018. In 2010, he was recognized with the first of them by the Futboleros program during his time as director of TV BRAND. He has also worked in 13TV, Mediaset, LaSexta and Vía Digitalwhere he began his television career after his beginnings in Radio Intercontinental and Radio Spain. Del Campo has a degree in Journalism from the Carlos III University and the 2002 Excellence Award for the Best Student and Diploma in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid. In November 2023 he published the book Good Nights and Good Goals, a journey through the profession that is on its way to its second edition.

Radio MARCA began 2024 with a new increase in audience, according to the first wave of the EGM and stands at 471,000 daily listeners, which represents an increase of 42,000 listeners compared to the last wave last year. Del Campo’s appointment seeks to consolidate this growth of the chain, as well as that of GfK’s digital metrics, according to which MARCA.com was once again the leading website in the month of Aprilnot only from the sports press but also from the general press, with an average daily audience of 2,782,700 readers.

Along with the arrival of Del Campo, MARCA also reinforces various editorial areas (with Mario G. Estrela, Fran Villalobos, Javier Rodríguez and Maite Sánchez) to continue consolidating its position as a leader and undisputed reference in sports information.

Mario Gómez (MARCA deputy director)

New head of the engine area. Mario Gómez (Madrid, 1965), after his time at the newspaper, which he joined as an intern in 1990, was director of MarcaMOTOR between 2003 and 2017 and, later, responsible for international digital editions.

Francisco Villlobos (ref. MARCA editor)

International editions. Fran Villalobos (Madrid, 1983), 18 years at MARCA, where he started as a newspaper intern before becoming part of MARCA.com. Since 2018 he has worked as section head at the head of international editions.

Javier Rodríguez (chief editor of MARCA)

New editorial product manager. Javier Rodríguez (Burgos, 1982), at MARCA since 2005, takes on this new professional challenge after several years at the head of the newspaper’s design team, of which he was head since 2011. He has been editor-in-chief of MARCA since 2016.

Maite Sánchez (MARCA layout manager)

He assumes the position after almost three decades on the design team and layout of the diary. Maite Sánchez (Madrid, 1967), she began her professional career in 1991 at Actualidad Económica and from 1996 she moved to MARCA, where she has developed her entire career.
