The Portuguese Fatoumata Diallo set the national record in the 400 meter hurdles in 54.65 seconds today and secured qualification for the Paris2024 Olympic Games, during the semi-finals of the European Athletics Championships.
The 24-year-old Benfica barrier beat the previous best national mark, 55.22, which belonged to Vera Barbosa since August 5, 2012, without, however, ensuring direct qualification for the Rome 2024 final , with fourth place in the first semi-final.
